Helen Winterson
Helen Winterson, who trained as a tailoress in 1926, started the business in 1953 in a small corner shop in Hawk Green. As the years went by the business expanded into the house next door. This was the “swinging 60’s and a very exciting time to be involved in the fashion business.
Helen Winterson was joined by her two daughters Val and Judi, who then ran it together for many years. Eventually growing out of nos 5 and 7 Upper Hibbert Lane after 20 years moving to the centre of Marple into our current premises.

We celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2003 and carried out a major refit of the shop. The following year we entered and won the coveted Drapers Independent Ladies Retailer Award in November 2004.
Now Judi and her husband David, along with their loyal staff, are a team working together to find just the right fashionable and wearable clothes to suit your lifestyle.

We pride ourselves on our attention to detail with service from experienced sales and alteration staff whose main aim is to provide perfect outfits that look and feel wonderful, whatever the occasion. Alterations are free on all spends of over £100.
